About Workshops in Progress
Our Philosophy
We create unique learning adventures for adults. Set in fun locations, our programs inform and inspire.
We build bridges between local and national talent and local and national businesses by utilizing our experience in the arts, business, and the Web. We believe creative people should be paid for their work, and unique businesses shouldn’t struggle so hard to be known.
Curious about our logo? Designed to look like a Do Not Disturb sign, you may see it hanging on doors whenever we’re holding a workshop, program, or class–even when we host an event outside.
We are now offering Free Bookmarks at various locations in the Marion and Cedar Rapids area. Be sure to pick one up and place it in your favorite book. They’re designed by our first artist who is also a part-time employee and columnist for Prairie Den and are on “the house.” We hope you’ll be tempted to visit our site often and subscribe to our free RSS feed, or join our mailing list when we have one in place.
Prairie Den
What is Prairie Den, and how is it related to this company?
Since 1996, Prairie Den has been our free electronic magazine devoted to creativity and the writing life. Workshops in Progress is an offspring of the company, where we plan to bring some of the people we interview online to our community for workshops and fun events.
Our Location
At this time all of our office work is done via telecommuting. We each work on our laptops, and meet periodically at local venues. You can contact us by choosing the contact link on this site. We are an Iowa based company and that’s where we intend to host the majority of our events.
